Love this - many traps around the methods that open our eyes. Also reminds me of advice from S N Goenka - "let your practice match your theory" Knowing it is worthless if you ain't using it.
Regarding #3 - wouldn’t you say this moment in history is actually an outlier and we quite literally might be at the end of time because of our technological capacity for omnicide in the relative near term.
« Good luck and happy travels! » How did you know I was traveling next week, Jamie? Or did I just fall, astonished, into the ontological mistake of thinking the message speaks to Me in my Right Now context? :)
Hello Jamie, great article! It's refreshing to read this again after finishing stealing fire a couple of months ago.
I really would like to read/ hear your further explanation about thing you said in one of your interviews, I believe it was with Rebel Wisdom that I can't get out of my head. It was about Ken Wilber's version model of spiral dynamics and that it's good to know it but you should be able to forget all that afterwards, could you please elaborate on that at some point? Thanks
yeah! reckon I said something like "integral theory is best something deeply studied and then promptly forgotten." That was because most folks I knew who went deeply deeply into those models at some point became so enamored of those models that they became elitist egg heads. So understanding developmental models--super helpful. Mistaking them for signs of personal achievement, or as more important or descriptive than common sense humanity? Perhaps a little less so.
Great perspective and guidelines. Thank you. Curious how these rules can apply to things beyond non-ordinary states to foster both rational and creative thought and action for doing good in the world.

X risk stuff
congrats, you found the easter egg ;). cuz in general, it's not about now (but what if, against all odds, this time, it actually might be?
Jerusalem Syndrome! Did not know. Reminds me of the “Glastonbury Hangover” phenomenon (unrelated to the festival).
Yes yes yes yes yes. All enormously important.
If you get through this and believe you have avoided everything perfectly you may actually be far worsely situated in reality.
Not you though (reader) you are definitely fine 😉

Thank you, for finding the time to reply.
