This week, the indefatigable Jeffrey E is back in the news. With a vengeance.

The whole QAnon/MAGA crowd are officially losing their shit as their fearless leader, the very one who (according to Q) is destined by God Almighty to unmask the Cabal has punted on what he now insists is a Nothing Burger.

Even the podcast Bros are disavowing the Donald.

Political appointees to the administration are having to eat their words and backtrack or risk losing their spots at the trough. (Lookin’ at you, Danny B)

Meanwhile, the Broken Brained Post Covid Chemtrails, Cloud Seeding and QAnon lot simply cannot accept that this particular move of 5D Chess is anything but a Pawn Sacrifice.

(and they’re slowly realizing they’ve been the pawns, all along).

Even though the whole Epstein thing has always been FishyAF, let’s just take a moment before we dive in and Big Picture this whole thing.

This is what we’re talking about right now!

Driven to Distraction Bread and Circus.

Not the humanitarian crises in Gaza.

Or the 14 MILLION people slated to starve as a result of the gutting of USAID.

Or the devolution of Ukraine into a Terminator Drone Swarm hellscape.

Or masked government agents prowling our streets and bodysnatching the innocent and suspected alike. (currently running 70% innocent, but never mind those pesky stats)

Or the building of chain link and razor wire concentration camps in swamps in the Land of the Free.

Instead of all that, we’re talking about sex and fever-dream conspiracies.

So as long as we’re clear about the stakes and the tradeoffs of where we’re placing our attention at this crucial moment in history, let’s dive all the way in and explore the full range of what the Epstein case might have “really” been about.

No holds barred.

Alright, been putting off writing this one for at least half a decade now, but watching this week’s kerfuffle with Trump’s denials, Virginia Guiffre’s tragic suicide, those Fall of Prince Andrew docs and the P. Diddy scandal left me deeply puzzled.

I mean, WTF do we think actually happened?

Seriously.

All the coverage has narrowed to simple but tragic stories of the exploitation of young girls. There’s talk of Epstein’s black book and flight logs and naming names, but nothing ever happens. (the most prominent people named in it offer anodyne denials and insist that they are just as shocked, shocked! as anyone to find out the awful truth).

Then he gets put in prison. Then he dies in super fishy circumstances. And we all move on. Then his accomplice Jean Luc Brunel in France also dies (also in prison) in super fishy circumstances and we hear even less.

Who knew that bunkbeds and bedsheets were such a lethal combo?

Prince Andrew settles for a cool $15M in a suit by Virginia Giuffre who Epstein had borrowed from Mar a Lago and brought to London.

Bill Clinton has been getting razzed for his 27 trips on Epstein’s “Lolita Express” plane. But standup comics just laugh about it, along the lines of “if you’ve solicited one inappropriate BJ from a young intern, you’ve solicited a thousand of ‘em, amiright?”

And…?

What comes after?

What’s behind it all?

How can we see a trunk, definite tusks, maybe even a tail, and no one can imagine what the elephant under the carpet could possibly look like?

After all, the Epstein case is responsible for a decent chunk of our current paranoia and disenchantment with the Powers that Be and became Exhibit A for the QAnon/Pizzagate crew.

(Exhibit B: The other mind-tearing clusterfuck/coverup of the Wuhan Lab, which more and more agencies and individuals are conceding was, in fact, quite likely, a leak.

Even Harvard’s Steven Pinker, who famously won a wager against Martin Rees at Cambridge predicting there wouldn’t be a lab leak epidemic before Covid had happened, now concedes to it being 60/40 in favor of a leak)

But there’s not time for both in one essay, so today, let’s double down on Jeffery.

And let’s do it in a way that hopefully:

• doesn’t descend into spaghetti map paranoia

• accepts that the ultimate truth will remain unknowable

• tightens up some spitball wonderings into some more tightly framed hypotheses

and to do that, let’s use a Post-Conventional Metaphysics model that combines the three legged stool (or Illuminati pyramid, if you prefer) of Pascal’s Wager, Ockham’s Razor, and Bayesian Probability

Between them, they should map most of the ground we need to cover.

Quick Overview:

Let’s start with Pascal’s wager.

Blaise Pascal, a seventeenth-century French mathematician, famously figured that it was better to believe in God, on the off chance he was real, than to deny his existence and burn in hell for his doubts.

Moral: At least conceive of the incon­ceivable, just in case it turns out to be true. As we enter the age of the Intertwingularity, everything from religious prophecies to global plots to existential collapse is on the table.

When you have a retired U.S. Rear Admiral stating he’s 100% certain aliens are amongst us, well, that’s worth keeping in mind!

Same with the prospect that a global cabal of elites just might be secretly enslaving us, or that there’s a real likelihood of civilizational collapse or AI takeover in the next few decades.

We’d do well to consider them all, as Pascal did, just in case one or more of them end up happening.

The second guideline comes from William of Ockham, the medieval Franciscan who gave us the maxim known as Ockham’s razor. It boils down to “the simplest solution is usually the best.”

Moral: Before galloping off into labyrinthine interpretations of our favorite conspiracy theory, late­night bender, or spiritual epiphany, consider the less exciting but more likely explanations first.

“Extraordinary claims,” Carl Sagan cautioned, “require extraordinary proof!”

Or, as Sigmund Freud drily observed, “Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.”

Ockham’s Razor provides the counterpoint to the wide aperture, consider-it-all-just-in-case, aspect of Pascal’s Wager.

Ockham forces us to tighten the aperture up again, and only let through the most plausible hypotheses, no matter how smitten we might be with some of the more fantastical options.

Once you’ve done that–consider All the Things/admit only a few things…we get to the final step:

The third pillar comes from Thomas Bayes, a sixteenth-century statistician who gave us Bayesian analysis.

The world is chaotic, complex, and confusing, Bayes suggested, and the best you can do is track all the variables and update them as you get new information. Rather than gunning for false certainty, he encouraged provisional uncertainty.

Moral: Don’t get out too far over your skis. Track everything that might be true but isn’t yet certain, and update dynamically as you learn more.

Fools rush in, in other words, where statisticians fear to tread.

Got it? Great. Let’s get cracking.

(N.B. I’m writing all this from memory because I want to get to the most interesting occult hypotheses at the end. If you’re way down the rabbit hole on this scandal, I’m gonna be missing some things, and forgetting others. Hopefully, they’re not material to the thought experiment, but I trust you’ll be the first to let me know in the comments if so!)

Jeffery Epstein in Four Acts

Act One: The Setup

Jeffery was always a perv with a thing for young things, as far back as the mid 70’s when he was a math teacher at the tony Dalton School for Girls in Manhattan. There were rumors of him dating and/or dallying even back then.

He joins Bear Stearns, gets out of math teaching and into finance, makes partner, gets in and out of some scrapes on dodgy trades and ethics stuff but nothing prosecutable.

So far, so normal(ish).

Then he enters his “shadow phase” where his visible wealth (Manhattan mansion, jets, island, ranches) escalate but his financial footprint more or less evaporates.

By the late 80’s, he supposedly takes on Les Wexner’s (CEO of Limited and Victoria’s Secret, also with a penchant for La Strange) book of business, and Les becomes anchor client/sponsor/financier of some form.

As Eric Weinstein admits (after visiting him back in those days) Epstein felt more like a wholly formed construct than an actual person with backstory and relationships.

If he were truly trading the billions of dollars that he claimed to be, there was little to no impact in regulatory filings, market moving buy/sells, other firms and traders’ gossip in the insular world of Wall Street, etc.

He had become a cipher in a highly quantitative world.

Act Two: The Meetup

1991 Robert Maxwell, British publishing magnate, introduces his favored daughter, Ghislaine to Epstein. Maxwell then dies. On the brink of being exposed for massive fraud and bankruptcy he mysteriously falls off his own mega yacht named “Lady Ghislaine.”

Ghislaine then flees scandalized London and directly connects to Epstein in NYC. They quickly become thick as thieves.

Here it’s worth noting how important the Epstein/Maxwell combo might be.

In most American accounts of the Epstein Saga, they tend to portray Ghislaine as a milque-toast Stockholm Syndromed enabler to the Evil Genius.

But really, she was scion to one of the most prominent and controversial publishing families in England. (with a massive country house in Oxfordshire, school chums like Prince Andrew, appearances at Ascot and Balmoral, the works.)

Which was all the doing of her rags-to-riches father, Robert.

Born to a poor Jewish family in Czechoslovakia (now in present day Ukraine), he fought the Nazis as a resistance fighter. Then he immigrated to England where he became a decorated soldier for the Brits (which he milked for the rest of his career).

But right after the war, while stationed in Berlin, he quickly stepped into black market trading. And running intelligence for the KGB. Then he pivoted back to MI6 and pitched that they fund his media plan, all the while gathering up information from leading German and Soviet scientists (eerie foreshadowing for Epstein and his Harvard/MIT fascination).

Later while building his media empire, it was suspected (and even openly questioned in Parliament) that Maxwell was an Israeli Mossad agent. He was eventually buried on the Mount of Olives, one of Israel’s most hallowed cemeteries–suggesting a close and favored relationship with that government.

Which goes to show that at a minimum, Maxwell was “entrepreneurial.” At a maximum, he was an agnostic triple agent who was happy to take money from and sell information to damn near anyone.

He also got really good at secretly surveilling people—both for his tabloid papers, and even to spy on his own family and executives. Tons of crazy revelations in this BBC documentary. The House of Maxwell.

(Not to be confused with shitty coffee in a can).

Then he got massively over leveraged trying to out buy and out bid Rupert Murdoch and their dueling media empires. The very weekend it was all about to go public, he fled onto his mega yacht the “Lady Ghislaine".”

Right as his whole empire is just about to go tits up and he’s going to be exposed for bilking hundreds of millions of pounds, he “drowns.”

Ghislaine denies there’s any chance he would’ve killed himself and remains convinced he was clipped by an intelligence agency or shady underworld types.

By this time, she’d been his right hand, social secretary, and charmer-in-training for some time.

So, when she moves to NY to get a “fresh” start, and immediately pairs up with her father’s known connection, Jeffrey Epstein, it’s with that rolodex. And it’s with whatever furtive partners/handlers she might have inherited from her father.

Before ‘91, you could imagine that Jeffery and Les Wexner were a pervy partnership where the older Les let Epstein manage his money so they could frolic with young girls trying to become Victoria Secret models…

Not exactly upstanding gentlemanly behavior—but well within norms for the rich, horny and entitled.

After ‘91, though, Epstein and Ghislaine are now joined at the hip.

With access to all of her family’s elite European contacts, it seems like a merger of perversion and subversion made in heaven (or hell).

Remember—her dad bugged everyone, and built a media empire on that information.

Seven years later, Epstein drops $7.95M on his island, and now they’re truly off to the races.

They take the Wexner/Victoria Secret grift and perfect it.

Ghislaine is the flirty-fisher of young girls from the wrong side of the West Palm Beach tracks. Epstein gets up to three massages a day from this crew. They start building a full trafficking factory on three continents.

Things are heating up.

Act Three: The Fuck Up

This is where what Erik Weinstein clarifies “Epstein was a structure, not a person, and we just happened to all bump into it.”

It’s fair to say that no matter how sophisticated an intelligence op they were running, or sinister an Illuminati play they had going, the whole game was fucked cuz Jeffery couldn’t keep his willy in his pajamas.

His methods, as they say, had become “unsound.”

One concerned step-mom of one of those West Palm Beach girls called the local cops. That sets off a chain of events. Local police did some leg work, found plenty of “there” there, interviewing over forty alleged victims.

In 2008 Epstein is sentenced in Florida on the sly. No notification to the plaintiffs or their lawyers. One prosecutor who got a text heads up and scrambled to the court in time commented on the whispered sidebar convos between Epstein’s lawyer and the judge. He received insanely limited and lenient charges (Epstein could keep on fondling girls with an ankle bracelet, but had to come back and sleep in the jail at night!)

This egregious sweetheart deal cost former federal prosecutor and Trump Labor Secretary Alex Acosta his job when Epstein’s second conviction reheated scrutiny.

With increasing pressure and ongoing litigation, Epstein is arrested a second time, in 2019, and put in jail in downtown Manhattan. This is when everyone gets really excited, convinced that the Secrets of the Illuminati are all just about to come out, for sure!

A month later he’s found dead in his cell.

The coroner initially records cause of death as “uncertain.” Their higher ups then overwrite that finding with “suicide.” William Barr the Attorney General seconds that emotion, stating that they’d reviewed the tapes of the entry to that floor and no one came or went during Epstein’s last night, so ergo ,vis a vis and CONCORDANTLY, it must have been suicide!

But the two guards were fucking off napping and surfing the web, faking their log reports and amazingly, coincidentally LOSING THE VIDEO TAPES!

After pursuing official and legal inquiries for several years, Mark Epstein, his brother, goes on to insist the whole thing was a professional hit . (this is worth watching as it’s close to the source, and Mark is clearly legally savvy and in consultation with his own lawyers, so this isn’t an Alex Jones rant)

I have a memorable client (think of a cross between Vin Diesel and Milton Friedman) who was once locked up in that same cell block, who swears ”shit, there’s no fuckin’ way with those short ass bunkbeds you could fuckin’ get enough of a drop to hang yourself!”

The autopsy noted broken bones in the trachea region, more in keeping with blunt trauma or strangling. The ligation marks go front to back (again more in keeping with choking) than up at a 45 deg angle behind the ears (as would happen in a hanging position). And perhaps most tellingly, there was no sign of blood pooling/bruising on the back of Epstein’s legs when he was found seated. Which if your heart stops pumping, tends to happen.

Tl;DR

FishyAF!!!

Then two years later, Jean Luc-Brunel, accused sex trafficker and Epstein’s Euro accomplice, and one of the last guys to possibly spill the tea, dies in EXACTLY THE SAME manner in a Parisian prison. The French authorities never even bother offering credible autopsy and cause of death. Just a Gallic shrug.

Act Four: The Cover Up

So this is where it gets weird and why I wanted to write about this.

Sure, Rogan kept on joking #epsteindidntkillhimself. Twitter was awash in the hashtag. Youtube went nuts for recycled conspiracy explainers.

But the news cycle, other than occasionally posting those lists of academics and celebrities on the flight logs, really just settled into the least interesting storyline.

Sex. Underage girls. Trafficking.

Epstein: Naughty

Ghislaine: Groomer

Virginia Giuffre: Brave

Prince Andrew: Randy

$15M settlement. Royal Scandal. Justice served. Move along, nothing (more) to see.

But even the simplest overview of the situation like we’ve done here suggests that the sexual abuse of underage girls was a symptom of a much, much larger malaise.

Sure, it’s what got Epstein popped. It’s what goaded the rusty wheels of justice into reluctant motion. But what was the “structure” that Eric Weinstein insists we bumped into?

And why aren’t more people deeply concerned about it?

Here’s where we need to break out that Post Conventional Metaphysics we introduced up front.

Four Scenarios of What “Really” Happened

(we’ll lay ‘em out and then can rank them)

Scenario One:

Epstein was a horndog with a longstanding thing for underage girls. He seduced, groomed and abused, but basically he was not that different than a garden variety sex offender, other than in scale and brashness.

Verdict: Unsatisfying and doesn’t address key facts.

His untraceable and implausible rise to financial prominence, his power over powerful people, and his documented surveillance operation. Or the statistically improbable deaths.

To be sure, Epstein was a horndog who “liked ‘em kinda young” as his erstwhile wingman DJT admitted. But this does not remotely explain The Structure we’re looking for.

Scenario Two:

at some point, either upon joining up with the UK Maxwells or earlier, Epstein became an intelligence asset or a free agent in the international underworld. Given his fascination with Ashkenazi intelligence and breeding programs (he was planning on impregnating lots of women to carry on his own genetics) it’s entirely possible that Mossad (the Israeli agency) had profiled him, noted his sympathies, capabilities and proclivities and cultivated him.

This is wholly in keeping with Mossad’s use of honeypots (beautiful women to solicit intelligence) BTW. A friend of mine who worked in JSOC in the Middle East said that as a rule of thumb, they always assumed that any hotel room they stayed in in Israel was bugged, and they always assumed that any gorgeous Gal Gadot type hitting on them at the bar was an agent. And these were trusted allies!

Or, perhaps Epstein was just a freewheeling party boy and Les Wexler’s best financial manager until Ghislaine (and her European contacts if she had them) enrolled him in the Bigger Game.

For anyone that remembers Godfather II where the Nevada senator is roofied and wakes up next to a murdered prostitute, you’ll know that the Mafia have been practicing this for ages. Roy Cohn, Trump’s erstwhile mentor of Dirty Tricks, is an unsavory bridge between that world, Nixon’s Watergate, and our current moment.

Cohn’s life connects the McCarthy era to the age of Trump across more than half a century—a dark thread in American politics. Cohn was trained as a lawyer, but he was a fixer by trade. McCarthy hired him as chief counsel to his Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations and made him infamous as a Communist hunter. Cohn in turn mentored Stone, who got his start as a Nixon dirty trickster and later introduced Cohn to Ronald Reagan, whom Cohn introduced to Rupert Murdoch. Cohn and Trump met at a New York nightclub in 1973, when Trump was in his mid-20s and the Trump Organization was being sued by the federal government for racist housing practices. Trump recognized a man after his own self-image: a ruthless player who knew how to win.

So yes, has been happening for ages, and nothing remotely original about one more spin at the wheel.

Wealthy, powerful people offered drugs and sex. Filmed without their knowledge in compromising positions. Held over them later for favors, access or compliance.

Verdict: likely the most Occam’s Razory simplest, plausible scenario.

Scenario Three:

But what if it was more than that? Not occult. But more occult-adjacent.

Let’s assume that Palm Beach, New York, New Mexico etc. were more or less garden variety kompromat operations. (minus the Ashkenazi breeding program at the ranch)

Epstein traded Harvard, MIT and Santa Fe Institute intellectuals (Joi Ito, founder of MIT Media Labs, had to step down in disgrace after being associated with Epstein for funding), and access to presidents and royals into an upward swirl of halo effects and leveraged influence.

But what about that island he flew so many people to so many times?

In one interview he admitted that there, on his own island, away from prying eyes

“I am most myself. I know who I am. I know what I am. And here, I can be that without any constraints.”

Enter, the Super Creepy Temple.

Now some intrepid YouTuber, not long after Epstein’s death, sneaked a drone onto the island and bee-lined it to the temple (his video accounts are all now deactivated). Peeking inside, it was completely cleaned out, save for some dusty exercise bikes, old mattresses and scaffolding.

Ahhh…

Nothing to see here (either) folks! Move along, it was just a cliffside Pilates space for guests, after all.

Check here for this Business Insider reporting that offers the most boring corroborated account from the only confirmed eye witness to the interior—a piano tuner who visited the island twice in 2011-12 to tune a grand piano.

Nonetheless he described it as giving “ temple and lair” vibes.

But what’s up with all the curious architectural features and paintjob?

There were two golden statues on the roof (alternately described as harpies, devils, owls––guesses are all over the place and they’ve since disappeared, along with the dome).

There was a third statue on the lawn that, again smacks of Babylonian garden gnome/Baphomet with a tall hat and beard, but not conclusively ID’d.

But then you have some pundits drawing a connection between the fairly unique Golden Dome, the ablaq striped paintjob, the keystone over the door, and other architectural details and the Mamluk Hammam in Aleppo, Syria.

Mamluk means “one who is owned” as they were slaves kidnapped by the Ottomans and turned into mercenaries and mandarins. The girls were kidnapped as sexual slaves.

A hammam is a Turkish bath house, where, you guessed it, Mamluk sex slaves gave massages.

Now back in the Medieval day, the Ottomans and Arab states were upstanding Muslims and observed modesty and gender segregation–except in their hareems.

“Turkish Bath” didn’t mean the same thing back then that it came to mean in the Castro District in San Francisco in the 70’s

But nonetheless, there really are some straightforward architectural and cultural coincidences here that seem kinda on the nose. I mean, there are a lot of other ways to design and build a workout room, a piano lounge, or an office den.

To recap before diving into the really wiggy stuff.

Robert Maxwell had established ties to two major intelligence agencies (MI6, KGB), suspicions of a third (Mossad), a documented history of black market trading, illegal surveillance, and financial fraud, and a murder/suicide in extremely suspicious circumstances.

So did Epstein.

So did his close friend, accomplice and accused sex trafficker Jean Luc Brunel.

At least two of these three appear to be connected. All three might be.

Regardless, the men closest to Ghislaine Maxwell are all dead. They all got up to shady shit. None got to tell their story in court.

But even this weird temple to account for, could really be explained by rich people kicking out all the stops.

Epstein had got his young girls/powerful people/hidden camera game down pat, but he (or his audience) were getting bored. I mean, what can you offer for the glitterati who’ve experienced it all?

Veuve Cliquot is a bit of a cliche.

Bumping lines off naked sushi models is so 1980s.

Burning Man was fun once,

but it really is so dusty, you understand.

What’s left?

Eyes Wide Shut, of course.

So perhaps the Temple was where Jeffery could most feel himself and be himself. But it was ultimately just a stage prop. A bit of drama to sex up the sexy.

Play acting and a bit of foreplay, all rolled into one.

Verdict: Quite likely, and requires no additional rabbit hole jumping.

Highly plausible with tons of precedent (costumed sex parties in mansions and castles are a dime a dozen at this point) Just check out Killing Kittens and any of the more discrete options out there.

So we can stop here, having mapped the Bayesian Probable. 90% chance something along these lines was happening. If not all the time, at least some of the time.

But since we’ve taken the time to build out this thought experiment, let’s go one click further into the least likely/most disturbing scenario.

Onto

Scenario Four:

Truly occult sex magick practice.

Conducted as part of a secretive society of world elites, who wield power from the results of their rituals.

More powerful than Epstein himself. As they had him killed when he became a liability.

More powerful than the British Royal Family, as they hung Prince Andrew out to dry when he couldn’t handle his own shit.

More powerful than French authorities as they got to Jean Luc Brunel in prison just as easily as they had Epstein.

More powerful than Robert Maxwell (perhaps?) as they could reach him in international waters when he was hiding from the world.

Still most likely is Scenario 3, the underage girls were there for jaded fun and likely served double duty as omerta-style mutally assured destruction

(like gang initiations where newbies have to kill someone so they can’t rat out the crew).

After all if we’ve got pics of you naked with a kid, we’ve got you for life.

Or

it could be for some truly dark reason, like the psychic-sexual energy of innocents is exquisitely more delectable or potent for esoteric workings.

One victim reported being summoned to Epstein’s pitch black bedroom on the island , saying “it was terrifying, and I think he knew that and liked it. He fed off it in some way.”

So while this is the least likely scenario to be true, it’s also a weirdly coherent answer.

It explains fifty odd years of the Maxwell/Epstein saga. It accounts for at least three extremely suspicious deaths. It provides a plausible reason for the Temple’s existence, and the interdisciplinary prominence of so many guests..

Let’s back up a sec and just survey the unsavory world of pedophilia to see what it is exactly we’re contemplating on Epstein Island.

(worth noting up front: age of consent for most of human history was well within the ranges Epstein preferred. This was part of his justification for it. In Alaska and Hawaii it’s still 14 years old. Connecticut’s Romeo and Juliet statute is 13. He preferred young adolescent girls, but routinely employed girls in their late teens and early twenties too. He was not a prepubescent pedophile. It may seem like splitting hairs on what we find egregious, unethical or criminal, but there is a marked difference between those pathologies).

• We know that the majority of sex offenders are solo operators. Think the trenchcoat guy with the creepy van.

• Some, especially if they can insinuate themselves into positions of authority and oversight (teachers, coaches, ministers, scoutmasters, etc) can become serial abusers.

• There are definitely sex trafficking rings, that gather victims to then sell to individual pedophiles. War torn countries and urban underworlds are tragically full of them.

• But what about the existence of what we’re considering here? Sex trafficking rings that conduct coordinated communal abuse? That has to be far, far more rare.

• And what about ones that do so with a layer of intentional dark ritual?

• And what if beyond all ken of the rational and reasonable world we think we live in, those rituals actually work?

Because let’s face it, your average pedo isn’t a captain of industry, or a wolf of wallstreet.

They’re the ones you least expect. The pervy drunk uncle or stepdad. The handsy priest or scout master.

They’re strikingly, tragically mundane.

So simply molesting young victims doesn’t give you super powers.

Then what’s the deal with the Illuminati abusers?

Either, the sex is bait, and really only serves the purpose of ensuring control and compliance of the group’s members–Kompromat 101

the sexual ritual is central and is somehow connected to the power and influence that shadowy groups like this actually wield.

Sounds utterly crazy (unless you’re already down the QAnon/Pizzagate tube)

But consider precedents for this sort of thing.

Sexmagick has been around for as long as we have.

Some were probably benign fertility cults, ensuring healthy babies and bountiful harvests.

Just this past month Italian archaeologists confirmed an ancient Egyptian chalice dedicated to a fertility goddess that contained psychoactive harmala (an MAOI similar to half of the ayahuasca concoction) blue water lily, menstrual blood and vaginal mucous.

But other variants could have had more sinister elements, including sacrifice and conjuring of dark forces via the act of sex itself.

Aleister Crowley, the “mad, bad and dangerous to know” sex magician of the 20th century was way deep into this stuff. Jack Parsons (founder of Jet Propulsion Labs) built the rockets that put NASA into the space program and ran a Crowlean Temple in Pasadena (before also getting mysteriously blown up in his garden shed).

Parsons died in 1952 while working on an explosive special effect for a movie in his home laboratory. The explosion has been called an accident, a suicide, or an assassination, depending on the source. An obituary in the Pasadena Independent described Parsons as “a down-to-earth explosives expert who dabbled in necromancy.” More recently, the New York Post went with: “this sex-crazed cultist was the father of modern rocketry.”

L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology, was also up in that business (and ran off with Parson’s wife and money). In 1946 he and Parson’s enacted Crowley’s Babalon Working intended to conjure the spirit of a Babylonian fertility goddess via extended sexytime with one of their consorts.

Even Robert Heinlein, sci-fi author of Stranger in a Strange Land fame (and inadvertent genesis for the polyamory movement) crossed paths with this SoCal crew.

So, from ancient times to modern ones, there’s ample evidence that gatherings like this, rituals like this have existed and been taken seriously, at least by the participants.

To recap then…

Not all perverts are elites.

Not all elites are perverts.

But, apparently, some elites are perverts. And they probably don’t start that way.

(it would be statistically improbably that there’s a critical mass of high performing pedos just waiting to find their people).

More likely, some subset of high achieving strivers get bent into perversion in their quest to attain or maintain power.

Whether the sexual abuse of innocents is central and the secret sauce that conjures unlimited power, or it’s just the price of admission into what is otherwise a very exclusive Mastermind group, is impossible to know from here.

That’s a whole lot to think about, and even harder to prove. So most of us have just scrolled on past it, and now we’re nattering on about the next thing.
